Happy St. Nick's Day!

Today is St. Nicholas' Feast Day. On the night before, children polish & place their shoes outside their front door in hopes that St. Nicholas will arrive during the night to fill them with small presents such as candy, and fruit and nuts. (This is where having big feet would be a plus!) So did you check outside your door today?
Thank you Father for your
servant Nicholas,
who brought joy to children.
Put into our hearts the spirit
of childhood
about which your Son spoke.
Teach us how to sow
happiness & joy around us. Amen.

Angel's school did this yesterday! All the kids after lunch took one shoe off and kept it outside their classroom door. I was helping serve hot lunch and outside all of the classrooms they had one shoe out. They all got candy canes. It was sooo cute!

I told Bob to put his shoes out last night, but he forgot. Maybe there is still time for him if St. Nick has anything left in his bag for him. He is, after all, a big kid at 70.

Roberta,

I love your prayer encouraging us to embrace our childlikeness!! I am loving Jan Richardson's advent readings called Night Visions: Searching the Shadows of Advent and Christmas.
