Prayer in the Park

I "took" this photo from yesterday's Daily Office .
This is an art installation.
I found it intriguing. What say you?

Roberta, I love this "installation." Do you know where it is? Or
anything about the artist? It'd be neat to know why he or she came
up with this! - Brad

well brad,
i did find an article at csmonitor.com - search for 'prayer booth' and the article should come up as 'backstory' - there were 3 prayer booths installed in 3 NY parks....

Art. Oh. (scratches head) Does anyone ever use it for .... other than art? Is prayer an art? That kneeler looks a little worn.

Very intriguing. What a good reminder or "trigger" in a city like that.

Wow... that speaks volumes doesn't it? And I love that it's blue just like the old phone booths.

Although it is an art piece, it truly does speak to prayer can be anywhere, anytime and/or any place.

How much use did it get? Are those wear marks on the kneeler? Art, maybe, useful, yes!

I heard about these things on NPR. Personally, I might just use one on a quiet night...but they are awfully public!
