Reality of God

This seemed an appropriate way to start our Election Day!
"In Christ we are offered the possibility of partaking in the reality of God and in the reality of the world, but not in the one without the other. The reality of God discloses itself only by setting me entirely in the reality of the world, and when I encounter the reality of the world it is always already sustained, accepted and reconciled in the reality of God." -- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Not sure, but it looks like one of those little boxes used to carry the elements for home communion.

Lots of Brownie memories from my Grandmother! He may well be holding one.

Roberta, it may be, or at least the German equivalent. Bonhoeffer was an amazing person who reached a difficult conclusion about what his faith demanded he do in life, and he paid with that life in the end. His books are difficult but extremely worthwhile undertakings. - Brad
