Is there a Narciccist in Your Life?

Half of the harm that is done in this world

Is due to people who want to feel important.

They don't mean to do harm -

but the harm does not interest them

Or they do not see it, or they justify it

Because they are absorbed in the endless struggle

To think well of themselves.

-- T S Eliot, The Cocktail Party

My husband is a narcissist...and he almost destroyed me. If you are close to them, they consume you like an acid.

Roberta,
When did you meet my mother and my sister? Hmmmm......My mother thinks the world revolved around her. As Fr. John Powell once said to someone, "She needs a Copernicum (sp) revolution."

Roberta, I enjoyed this one - used to be a big Muppets fan, especially of "Pigs In Space." And narcissism is a serious psychological disorder that often goes undiagnosed and untreated, to the discomfort of many around the narcissist. But we all have "it" to some degree! - Brad

How did there get to be so many of them? If there a good treatment for them let me know.
