the taste of salt

"In forgiveness,
the salt of bitterness
becomes
the salt of wisdom."

I just saw Gandhi for the first time over the weekend (and I mean over the weekend). I can't help but appreciate the timing of this quote as Gandhi's struggle turned over the production of salt. Salt might make your blood pressure go up in excess, but in small amounts it makes food taste better and is necessary for muscle contraction. Without wisdom, there is little but the salt of bitterness, I think.

AMEN! I have learned forgiveness the very painful way...I was very bitter.
