decisions

Doug Savage cartoon from here

“Decisions are the polishing cloths of life.”
-Augusten Burroughs,

this pithy quote is from This is How,
a book I just loved to bits...

God arguments

“Arguing whether or not a God exists is like
fleas arguing whether or not the dog exists.

Arguing over the correct name of God is like
fleas arguing over the name of the dog.

And arguing over whose notion of God is correct is like
fleas arguing over who owns the dog.”

 Robert Fulghum

infrequency

What if the question is not
why I am so infrequently the person I really want to be, but
why do I so infrequently want to be the person I really am?

Paddy's Day Cartoons

I couldn't decide which of these was more fitting
so you get all 3 which is very Trinitarian on my part!

My daughter Bethany has determined Lucky Charms to be
an "authentic Irish breakfast" but even she would not go this far!

+
I like the expression on the leprechaun's face
in the following cartoon, which seems to say,
"I need a new accountant"

More of these can be found here.
+
And this one is for all of you
who are brave enough to consume
corned beef & cabbage today.
I myself will be feasting on lasagna.

be very afraid?

"Fear
is always an anticipation
of what has not yet come."
-Jack Kornfield

And yet we're fed fear all day long.  I have a bumper sticker on my car that says
LOVE > FEAR
and that's reality.

Savagely Funny Chickens

I look forward to receiving "Savage Chickens" cartoons as a daily email.
I loved today's cartoon and thought I'd share some of my favorites.
Check out Doug Savage's website here and take a moment for a laugh...it's good for the soul!

shoulda, woulda, coulda

"Orthograph #37 - Living in the Present Moment"
is from the always brilliant Pithless Thoughts

so if you stop living in the shoulda/woulda/coulda circles,
will 'your real life' circle expand?

Today!

This cartoon gives a whole new meaning
to that infamous 1960's quote:
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Almost there...

It's the 10th day of Christmas and the Magi have traveled so far.
Determined to follow that star, they aren't letting anything stand in their way!
Of course, it would really help if everyone pitched in.

(ok, this graphic is supposed to show the dirt coming
out of the hole as the 3rd wisemen digs under the wall.
i have no idea why it isn't working, but if you click on the
picture you will see it move:)

whose fault?

"The journey to happiness
involves finding the courage
to go down into ourselves

and take responsibility
for what's there:
all of it."

rodents on the loose

More Sequim, WA police blotter reporting
from this week's Gazette:

March 22, 2009 1:07 p.m.
"Three white rats were reportedly
found on E. Prairie St."

Maybe someone mistook them for these proselytizing mice?

HT to E.K.

proselytizing = to try to convert someone to a religious faith or political doctrine
