taking out the trash

Here is one 4-year-old's take on the
word "trespasses" from The Lord's Prayer:

"And forgive us
our trash baskets
as we forgive those
who put trash
in our baskets."

taken from The Episcopal Bookstore's newsletter.....

how quickly my heart looks like this when
I stop emptying it through forgiving,
with God's help.
(and imagine the smell!)

Love it! Did you hear (maybe from me) about the Sunday School teacher years ago who wrote in to some magazine about one of her students? The kids were to draw pictures about Bible stories. One little guy drew an airplane with four figures in it. Three were pretty obviously Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus. The teacher asked, "Why the airplane." With a resigned tone the boy replied, "It's on their flight to Egypt, of course." The teacher said, "Oh, certainly! But who is the fourth person?" "That's Pontius the pilot," came the reply.
Love, Brad
